A Closer Look at the M6 Pro’s Design and Build

What I Like

The MEE Audio M6 Pro 2nd Generation headphones, impress with their thoughtful design and robust construction. They’re made from sweat-resistant materials, built to endure rigorous use.

Whether you’re a professional musician or an avid gym-goer, these headphones won’t disappoint you. The earpieces feel solid and durable, and you can choose from clear, black, blue, and red to match your style.

One standout feature of the M6 Pro 2nd Gen is its comfort. It comes with multiple sizes of ear tips for a snug fit, and the over-the-ear design keeps the earphones secure. Whether running a marathon or running errands, these earphones will stay put.

Another great feature is the detachable cables, which are rare for earphones in this price range. If the cable gets damaged, you can replace it, extending the lifespan of the earphones. The earphones also have a noise-isolating design that helps block out external noise, enhancing your music-listening experience.

Special Design Features

The M6 Pro 2nd Gen also comes with a Bluetooth neckband replacement for wireless use, adding to its versatility. The product package includes a hard shell case for accessory storage and an extra wire, ensuring you have everything you need for a great audio experience.

What I Wish Was Different

While the MEE Audio M6 Pro 2nd Generation headphones offer many benefits, there are a few potential drawbacks to be aware of.

Some users have reported that the ear hooks can initially feel stiff, though they tend to become more comfortable with use.

While the noise isolation is generally good, more is needed for extremely noisy environments. The sound quality, while excellent for the price, may not satisfy those seeking a high-end audiophile experience.

Putting the M6 Pro to the Test

Audio Quality – Things I like

I’ve had the opportunity to test the MEE Audio M6 Pro 2nd Generation across various music genres. The audio quality is impressive, with a balanced sound profile that caters to all types of music.

Whether you’re listening to the subtle nuances of a classical piece or the heavy bass in electronic music, the M6 Pro delivers.

The bass is deep and rich, providing a solid foundation without overpowering the rest of the sound. Conversely, the treble is crisp and clear, allowing the higher notes to shine through without sounding shrill or tinny.

Some headphones tend to distort the sound at high volumes, but not the M6 Pro. Even at maximum volume, the sound remains clear and distortion-free, a testament to the quality of these earphones.

The M6 Pro isn’t marketed as a noise-canceling headphone. Still, it does offer a good level of passive noise isolation due to its in-ear design. It can effectively block out ambient noise, enhancing your listening experience.

What I Wish Was Different

While the M6 Pro performs admirably in many areas, it has shortcomings. The lack of active noise cancellation might be a deal-breaker for some, especially those who frequently find themselves in noisy environments.

Additionally, while the sound is balanced, those who prefer a more bass-heavy or treble-heavy sound might find the M6 Pro needs improvement.

Comparison to similar products

MEE Audio M6 Pro 2nd Generation vs Audio-Technica ATH-CKB50

The Audio-Technica ATH-CKB50 is a balanced armature type earphone known for its solid bass notes and comfortable fit, thanks to its original loop-shape design.

It has a sound pressure level of 104dB/mW and a playback frequency band of 20~15,000Hz. However, it doesn’t offer the wireless capability that the M6 Pro 2nd Gen does, which could be a deciding factor for those who prefer freedom of movement.

Regarding sound quality, the ATH-CKB50 is praised for its balanced sound and surprising bass for a single-balanced armature driver.

On the other hand, the M6 Pro 2nd Gen is known for its impressive sound quality and comfort, making it a strong contender in this comparison.

MEE Audio M6 Pro 2nd Generation vs Shure SE 215

The Shure SE 215 is popular among music enthusiasts for its balanced sound and excellent build quality. It comes with three silicone and three memory foam pairs of ear tips, offering a customizable fit.

However, it doesn’t have the wireless capability that the M6 Pro 2nd Gen offers.

In terms of sound, the SE 215 is known for its warm and full-bodied vocals, with a level of detail and nuance that’s admirable at its price point.

Conclusion

So, to summarize this MEE Audio M6 Pro 2nd Generation review

These IEMs are a great choice for beginners and professionals. Its robust build quality, excellent sound, and thoughtful features offer great value for its price.

Whether you’re a budding musician looking for your first pair of professional-quality in-ear monitors, or an audiophile seeking a reliable and versatile pair of earbuds, the MEE Audio M6 Pro 2nd Generation is an excellent choice.
