As a beginner drummer, I must say I didn’t try many electronic drums. Alesis Turbo eash seemed like a pretty good deal since many people recommended it to me and after reading some reviews I decided to go for it. Well, I am definitely not disappointed. I find Alesis very simple to use and the user module is very beginner friendly. There is a great coaching program which includes a metronome and some tracks that you can play over.  Also, you can input your own music and play along with, which is great for practicing.

There are some drum kit presets that come with it, 10 of them. They are some modern sounding but also some are very “real drum” alike. I only wish there were more than 10 presets. It`s the only thing I would change about this kit.

And yeah, kick pedal comes without the pad? Dunno why.

Overall:

I must admit the first thing that caught my eye about these drums was the price.

I was looking for something cheap at the moment, and Alesis Turbo seemed like a good choice.

Also, I didn`t want to go so far from the sound of the acoustic drums since I love them, and the mash kits are known for their resemblance to the acoustics. Also what I love about the mash kits is that unlike rubber kits they don’t wear off hands so much, since they have adjustable tension.

And truly they are. Alesis has great response and dynamic, very close to the acoustic drums and I love it. But what I love the most about these drums is their coaching mode. It`s great for beginners! You have classic metronome, signature time that changes as you play and some play along tracks with adjustable components (you can turn off some parts like kick, hi hats…)

Only downside in my opinion is the fact that the kick pedal comes without a pad, and also that pads are single zoned and not dual zoned. But otherwise, I love it!
