This is one of the cheapest pads on Amazon and I get what I wanted with this one. I use it for clap, cowbel and some percussion sounds like addition to my acoustic kit and for that purpose is great but don’t expect to get SPD-sx or something like that out of it and it is a way cheaper.
I just can believe how slow this pad is, and the navigation is true pain in the ass. I had to buy the stand separately and I barelly found it. Sample pad 4 is great for simple use and as a entry level drum pad but nothing more than that.
Sound is decent and if you use it like I do I say go for it. I had some issues with going stereo on some gigs so I am using it mono now with only one cable and it works fine.
I aks Alesis why do I need to hit the pads on top that hard??? Saving the banks with two buttons press, really? I don’t know there is something off in the Alesis headquaters but overall you get what you pay.
I used the previous version of sample Pad Pro and it was crap although this one is is better and I see some improvements it`s I wasn`t satisfied so now I finally bought strike multipad difference in both build and Sam quality is obvious and a leases finally become good.
The version of this pad that I used was the one with 4 pads and cost me around $170 witch is really entry-level price and this kind of pad you get. Small pads on top need to be by hit hard and it happened that I don`t get the sound out of it. The biggest issue for me was it’s speed it takes eternity to switch between the kits. I didn`t expect much for the money I was paying too to but I expected to work better than old version and in some cases it was a huge dissapointment.
I don`t see much of a difference on the 8 pad version so I wouldn`t waste any money on it I would go straight on the strike multipad.
